LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We would like to acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Gáuigú (Kiowa), Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), Nʉmʉnʉʉ (Comanche), 𐓏𐒰𐓓𐒰𐓓𐒷 𐒼𐓂𐓊𐒻 𐓆𐒻𐒿𐒷 𐓀𐒰^𐓓𐒰^(Osage), and Kitikiti’sh (Wichita) land on which we are learning, working and organizing today. The lands extending throughout the state were originally inhabited by many tribes, including those that were forcibly relocated to Indian Territory under harmful federal policies. We acknowledge that the 39 sovereign Native Nations inhabiting what is now Oklahoma originate from all four corners of the North American continent and we commit ourselves to honor the people who have long watched over this land. We also commit ourselves to continue to learn how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit for future generations.
